Since 2001, Emma Bragdon has taken small groups (no more than 10 people per group) to visit John of God in Brazil 4-5 times a year. John of God has been a profound teacher for her, and by being at his sanctuary, Emma was introduced to other leaders in Spiritism in Brazil, as well as the activities of other Spiritist centers and hospitals. There are 13000 other Spiritist Centers in Brazil and 50 Spiritist Psychiatric Hospitals!
After her 2012 scheduled trips to John of God, Emma will be dedicating her work in Brazil to assisting health professionals to experience the amazing paradigm that Spiritists have developed that is integrative: attending to body, mind and spirit. Although the other centers do not have single healers, like John of God, who focus the healing work; they do have classes and programs which help individuals recover physical and mental health, encourage inner transformation, train as mediums and healers, and support profound personal growth. With immense gratitude for what she has received at the Casa de Dom Inacio, Emma will be turning her attention to these other centers, and encouraging health professionals to bring what they learn from these centers to improve our ailing health care system.
